William A. "Woody" Woodworth,82, formerly of

1190 WebbsCrossing Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (October 21, 2008) at the home of his daughter Nancy, surroundedby his daughter and son William.



Born in Wellsville, September 7, 1926,he lived most of his life in Hornell.Bill had been employed as an assistant drill rig operator in the SoilsDepartment , for the New York State Department of Transportation retiring in1987 after over 37 years service. Bill then became a greeter at the HornellWal-Mart, a job he enjoyed very much. He was a real "people person", andenjoyed his life and especially lunch with Connie at the Main Street Restaurantin Arkport.



He was predeceased by his wife, Betty P. Woodworth on October 11, 2000, hisdaughter, Deborah Woodworth in 2002, andhis companion Kathryn Berrey in 2007.



He is survived by his son, William J. Woodworth, US NavyRetired, and daughter, Nancy J. France both of Arkport, grandsons, CharlesFrance of Hornell and Raymond J. France of Ogdensburg, grand daughter Heather(Daryl) Blodgett of Maine, great grandson, Mason Lloyd Blodgett of Maine.



The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4& 7-8 PM Friday at the Bender -Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where funeralservices will follow calling hours at 8:00PM, Rev. Daniel Pickering officiating.Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
