William M. Skillman, 80, of
8171 State Route 961-F, passed awayMonday (March 3, 2008)unexpectedly at St. James Hospital.
Born in Hornell, November 4, 1927, the sonof Clarence and Themla (Ross) Skillman, he had resided in the Hornell areaall his life. He had been employed inthe maintenance department and as a painter for the New York State Departmentof Transportation in Hornell prior to his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Hornellsville Lodge #44F&AM and Christ Episcopal Church in Hornell. Bill will be remembered as an avid hunter andfisherman. Bill had served his country as a member of the US Navy and the USMerchant Marines.
He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, LeahColeman.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cramer Skillman whom hemarried in December of 1947, his daughter, LuAnn (Daniel) Hartwell and his son,John (Susan) Skillman both of Arkport, 3 grandchildren, Heather Hartwell-Clark,Christie Ann Skillman, and Craig Skillman, as well as 3 great grandchildren.

Honoring Bill's wishes, there will be no visitation hours. Aprivate family service will be held atthe Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery.
It was Bill's wish that in lieu of flowers, that everyonewould treat a young man or young lady to the experience of hunting or fishingin his memory.
