William T. Moss, 69, of

973 Polar Bear Ln.,went to be with the Lord on Thursday (November 23, 2006) at Strong Memorial Hospitalin Rochester,surrounded by his family. He had been a patient there for 17 days.



Born in Hornell, April 14, 1937, the son of Gilbert E.andMargaret Stevens Moss, he had resided inthe Hornell area all his life. He was a graduate of Hornell High School,Class of 1957, and worked on the family dairy farm until 1968 when he went towork for Alfred State College in the Public Safety Department retiring in 1995 after 28 years ofservice. William will always be knownfor his love of woodworking. He had hisown wood shop known as "Chessie Cat Crafts". His great skills can be seen in the manythings he made for his children, friends and other family members. He also hada great love for racing. He was co-ownerof two race cars with his son Cliff, who races at The WoodhullRaceway. He was affectionately known as"Pops" to all at the track and loved to film his son racing. He had four cats, (Topper, Chloe,Sushi/Spook and Sammy) that he was always known for spoiling. He also loved helping his son on the dairyfarm by doing field work. He will bemissed by his family and friends.



He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter, Gail Frechette and granddaughter, Miranda S. Mullen.



He is survived by his wife, Miriam Carroll of Hornell, two daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Jackson ofChesapeake, VA., Connie (Randy) Mullen of Canisteo, one son, Clifford (Debbie)Moss of Canisteo, one step-son, John (Eileen) Carroll of Mineral , VA., 12grandchildren, Matthew Frechette, Danny Frechette, Brian (Nikki) Frechette,Todd (Renee) Frechette, Jeannine Frechette,Glenn (Karen) Hann, Tracey (Joe) McCaig,Stacey Deebs, Christopher Colvin, Cassandra Colvin, KurtMullen, Kyle Mullen, 5 Step-grandchildren, Alexandra Carroll, Gunnar Carroll,Cameron Carroll,Brandy Jackson, Robert (Michelle) Jackson, and 13 great grandchildren.



The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 &7-9 PM Monday at the BROWN & POWERS FUNERAL HOME 6 Spruce Street, Canisteo, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. Rev. Donald Maynard will officiate.Burial will be in Howard Cemetery.
