William A. Crosby (79) of Hornell passed away Friday, February 6, 2026. The second of six children, William was born December 20, 1946 to Leo and Rose Crosby of Hornell.

William lived all his life in Hornell and was active in his community. For a time he served as president of the Little League and was a coach in Y-League Baseball. He enjoyed membership in several fraternal organizations including the Moose Club, Masonic Temple, IOOF and American Legion, and would often stay up all night playing cards at the Sons of Italy. Until a few years ago he would deliver for the local Meals on Wheels.

In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his brothers Leo F. Crosby, Tom Crosby, and Kevin (Lisa) Crosby. He is survived by brother Mike, sister Mary Ellen and O'Brien, and sons William M. (Monica) Crosby of Texas, James (Andrea) Crosby of Auburn NY, Stephen Crosby of Hornell and David (Jackie) Crosby of Newark NY, as well as six grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
