Warren W. "Bill" Jarrabet, 84, of
72Catherine Street, passed away Tuesday (November 11, 2008) at St.James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Hoboken,N.J., July 31, 1924, the son of Boleslow and Frances Savecky Jarzabek, he hadresided in Hornell since 1951. Bill served his country as a member of theUnited States Army from 1943 to 1946, serving in the 303rd EngineerBattalion, and most notably, a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. In 1946, Bill entered into a 4 year apprenticeshipas a stone mason and bricklayer, an occupation he performed for 36 years. Hewas a mason and bricklayer instructor at BOCES, Wildwood Campus, inHornell. He was a life member of theInternational Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers,a life member of the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Hewas a Scout Master for Troop 17, Boy Scouts of America for several years. Bill will be remembered as a "Lover" not a"Fighter" as attested to by his 9 children.
He was predeceased by his parents, and two brothers, Leonand Ronald.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mae Kilweather,whom he married in Fayetteville, N.Y. on July 6, 1951, their children; Gregory(Teresa )Jarrabet of BalstonLake, N.Y., Kota (Terumasa) Miiof Nio, Japan, Patricia (Christopher) Cunningham ofHornell and their children, Sean and Sarah, Christopher (Shaena)Jarrabet of Bryan, Texas, Jonathan (Cindy) Jarrabet of Sanford, N.C., and their children, Joy andSamantha, Regina (Delbert) Ching of Hilo, Hawaii,Janine Rogelstad of Webster, N.Y., Mary Frances(Michael) Corbett of East Rocheter. N.Y. and theirchildren, Shekinah and Joshua, Judith (Allen)Robertson of Hamburg, N.Y. and their children, Nathan & Zachary, 1 greatgrandchild, Riley Withrow, nieces and nephews.
