Canisteo- Waneta(Alderman) Semans, age 82, daughter of Clarence andBessie Alderman, widow of Albert Semans, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006 atSt. James Mercy Hospital after a short illness.



Waneta graduated Valedictorianof Haverling High School in 1941, and Geneseo State Teacher's College in 1966. She was employedas an elementary school teacher at Arkport Central Schoolfor 20years and retired in 1986.



She was an active member of the Canisteo FirstPresbyterian Church and the Guild, where she enjoyed serving the Lord. Waneta was also a member of Christian Business Women'sAssociation and the New York StateRetired Teacher's Association.



Besides her parents and siblings; Clair Alderman, WalterGlenn Alderman, Floyd Alderman, Fred Alderman , Eva Graham, MableRandall, and Linda Zeh, she was pre-deceased by herhusband, Albert in 1960, her son Alton,granddaughters, Connie Rahmlow, AsiminaMay and Waneta May Panayoutou,and great granddaughter Dominique Spink.



She is survived by Daughters: Betty (James) Ethraos of Browns Mills, NJ, Georgia "Joy "Jones of N.Waterboro, Maine (widow of Arthur Jones), Beatrice (Robert) Rahmlowof Canisteo, Martha (August) Panayoutou ofMercerville, NJ, Phyllis (Leo) Campbell of Dansville, Mary (Robert) Gross ofCanisteo, and sons: Rev. Lawrence (Sue) Semans ofDundee, Steven (Diane) Semans of Sevierville, TN, and David Semansof Arkport.



She is also survived by 30 grandchildren, 47Great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.



Waneta spent her life mentoringand teaching her large personal and community family. She was and inspirationto all who knew her. She was loved and admired by so many and will be greatlymissed.



Calling hours will be on Tuesday Nov. 21, 2006 at Somers Hall at the First PresbyterianChurch, Canisteo. Friends are invited tojoin her family in celebration of her life from 2 to 4 PMand 6 to 8:30 PM. A closed casket servicewill be held on Wednesday at 11:00AMat the First Presbyterian Church in Caniseo. Burial willbe in Greenville Cemetery. Rev. Todd Haynes and Rev. Lawrence Semans,son of Waneta, will officiate.



In lieu of flowers donations may be made tothe Baptist Children's Home, 214N. Mill Street, St. Louis,MI48880.
