Wanda D. Zimmer, 88,formerly of
65 MechanicStreet, passed away Wednesday (May 14, 2008) at Jones Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hornell, July 12, 1919, the daughterof Jesse and Gertrude Towner Rynders, she had residedin Angelica since 1975 coming from the Cohocton area.On December 21, 1940she married Alvin Zimmer who predeceased her in 1997. Wanda had been employedby the former Angelica Central Schoolas a cafeteria monitor, was a member of the Angelica United Methodist Church,the Progress Club, the Birdsall Grange, and theCrafty Belles. She also enjoyed gardening, arts, crafts and cooking.
She is survived by her daughter Bernita(Robert Fennell) Austin of Lakeville, 2 sons David Zimmer of Montrose, PA, Russell (Fumiko)Zimmer of Japan, her brother Robert Robinson of Holcomb, 6 grandchildren, and 4great grandchildren.
The family will be present 2-4 & 6-7pm Tuesday, at the Brown & Powers FuneralHome,
101 West Ave.,Angelica, where a Grange Service and Funeral service will be held at 7:00PM, with the Rev. Ernest Tracy officiating. Burial will be in Mapleview Cemetery, Cohocton.
