Walter E Jordan,78, of County Route 48, passed awayWednesday (August 30, 2006)at St. James Hospital.
Born in Rochester, September 2, 1927, the son of Joseph andBlanch Cobb Jordan, he had been alifelong resident of the Dansville and Arkport areas. Walter had been in the USArmy during World War II, and been employed for the Town of Wellsville HighwayDepartment, where retired in 1998.
He had wintered in Floridawhere had stayed with his daughter.
He was predeceased by his wife Iona Ames Jordan on March 16, 1996.
He is survived by adaughter Andrea (Bill) McHan of Florida, 3 sons Dale Jordan of Arkport, Bruce(Wendy) Jordan of Arkport, Daniel Jordan of Wanita Lake 1 sister Donna Ludwigof Dansville, 3 brothers Duane "Dewey" Davis of Dansville, Stuart Davis ofNunda, Bernard "Bernie" Davis of Dansville, 4 grandchildren Walter Golden,Eric, Stephen, and Christian Jordan, and many nieces, nephews and cousins
The family will be present 2-4& 7-9 PM Friday,at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354Canisteo St., Hornell, where funeral services will be held on Saturday,at 3:00 PM, Rev. StephenDavis officiating. Burial will bein Arkport Cemetery.
