Vivian Cansdale Reynolds, 98, long time resident of Hornell and Dansville, passed away Sunday (Nov. 10, 2024) at the Wellsville Manor Care Center.
Born in Cohocton, NY June 18, 1926, she was the daughter of Arthur L. and Mildred Smith Cansdale.
Vivian had been employed at Gunlocke in Wayland for several years.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Donald Reynolds, her daughter Diane Morton and her son Jeffrey Reynolds. In addition she was predeceased by her sisters, Eva Cansdale, Donna Cobb, and Esther McDonald, her brothers, Tracy, Eldon, David, Robert, Arthur and Donald Cansdale.
Vivian will be remembered as a loving Mom, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Daughter, and Wife. She enjoyed flea markets, craft shows, yard sales, penny socials and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed volunteering in the foster grandparents program in Livingston County.
She is survived by, her daughters, Debra Black of Honeoye Falls, Darlene Reynolds of Greece and Doreen Baker (Roy Baker III) of Wellsville, her brothers, Al Cansdale of New Hampshire, and Raymond Cansdale of Jamestown, several grand and great grandchildren, nieces & nephew and her pet cat “Nubbi”. .
Honoring Vivian’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
The family suggests that friends wishing to remember Vivian, send a contribution to Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street Hornell, NY 14843, to assist the family with funeral costs.
