Virginia L. Hilyard, 68, of
33 Stephens Street, passed away Sunday (September 21, 2008) unexpectedly at St. James Hospital.
Born in Hornell, February 9, 1940, thedaughter of John Clarence and Eloise DenhoffStephens, she had resided in Canisteo nearly all her life. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School, Class of 1957,and had been employed at the former Westinghouse Plant in Bath and the former Royce Shop inHornell.
She was predeceased by her father in 1964, her mother andher brother John Stephens in 2006.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Hilyard of Canisteo,whom she married May 19, 1972, hersisters, Barbara (Norman) Hurd of Tennessee and Betty Drake of Hornell, herbrother, Larry (Donna) Stephens of Canisteo, nieces and nephews.

6 Spruce Street,Canisteo. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canisteo.
