Virginia A. "Ginny" Johnson, 71, of 81 Wood Street, passed away early Sunday morning (October 4, 2015) at her home.
Born in Hornell, February 19, 1944, the daughter of Phillip and Marion Cornish Hadden Sr., she had resided in this area all her life. Ginny was a graduate of Canisteo Central School and received her LPN Degree from the Binghamton School Of Nursing. She had been employed at the former Bethesda Community Hospital , St. James Mercy Hospital, and was retired from the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath. Ginny was a loving mother, grandmother, devoted wife and loyal friend who loved to garden and fish.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Phillip Hadden Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Theodore Johnson to whom she was married in the Canisteo United Methodist Church on June 4, 1966, her daughters, Kimberly (David) Young of South Carolina, Karen (Anthony) Eveland of Webster, and Kristine (Michael) Hillman of Colorado, four grandchildren; Ericka Earley, Connor Earley, Brooke Hillman and Jeramiah Hillman.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo on Tuesday from 6 PM until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 AM followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo.
