Virginia M. France, 88, of
Ontario Street, passed away Saturday (June 23, 2007) after a longillness at the Bethany Nursing Home, in Horseheads.
Born in West Union, May 22, 1919, the daughter of Walter and Emma Allen Perry, she had resided in Hornell, mostall her life. She had graduated from Canisteo Central School,was a member of the Ivanhoe Chapter #160 OES, the
Sally Marquis Circle, and a member of theformer Spencer United Methodist Church of Hornell. Virginia was loved by everybody who knew herespecially her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years CharlesFrance in 2001, her son Stephen Robert France on 5 brothers Charles, Harold, Arling, Sterling,and Ronald.
She is survived by 4 daughters Mary Beth McLeod of Redding,Kristen (James) Headley of Horseheads, Sharlie (Douglas) Gates of Florida, and Connie (Charles)Wright of Florida, 2 sons Thomas (Betty Lou) France of Castile, David CharlesFrance of Hornell, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and sister ThelmaHand of Belmont.
The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday, at the Bender - Brown &Powers Funeral Home,
354 CanisteoSt, Hornell, where Funeral services will beheld Thursday, at 11:00 AM, with Betty Holden officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
