Violet McDaniels, 80, of 16 Ransom Street, passed away Saturday (September 11, 2010) at Robert Packer Hosptial in Sayre, PA.
Born in Canisteo, November 19, 1929, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys Gleason Bradford, she had resided in Canisteo her early life, and in Hornell for over 56 years. Violet enjoyed sewing and puzzles.
In 1952, she married Asa McDaniels who predeceased her on Nov. 1, 2008. She was also predeceased by her son, Joseph A. McDaniels and her sister, Elsie Bradford.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Sharon (Steven) Gillespie of Bath and Karen (Anthony) Sprinkel of Hornell, her son, Patrick (Brenda) McDaniels of Hornell, 5 sisters, Loretta Burgess of Canisteo, Clara Raub of Wellsville, Alberta Duvall of Hornell, Gladys May Duvall of Corning and Eloise (Phillip) Sanford of Hornell, 4 brothers, Clarence Bradford Jr. of Canisteo, Samuel (Josie) Bradford of Dansville, Herman Bradford and Daniel(Robin) Bradford both of Hornell, 8 grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Tuesday at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell where funeral services will follow calling hours at 1:00 PM. Rev. Michael Wheeler and Rev. Tyrone Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
