Viola M. Converse, 88, of Hornell passed away Tuesday (January 3, 2012) at McAuley Manor.
Born in Hornell, November 13, 1923, the daughter of William and Lucy (Lewis) Johnson, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Hornell High School. Viola will be most remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents ,her former husband Charles Earl Weaver, 2 daughters Beverly Ann Fuller, Lucia Marie Jonah, her grandson Donald Weaver Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by 3 daughters Charlotte Babcock of Troupsburg, Norma Horne of IN, Joyce (Charles) Hoffman of Middleton, 6 sons Donald (Ann) Weaver of TN, David A. (Jill) Weaver of Arkport, Robert C. (Theresa) Weaver of Dansville, Royce Converse, Caleb A. Converse of PA, Clifford H. (Pam) Converse of Penn Yan, a half brother Leonard Lewis of Wellsville, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
The family will be present 3-5pm Thursday, January 5, 2012, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell, where Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM, with the Rev. Marian Luce officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery at Loon Lake.
