Veronica M. "Vern" McMindes,42, of
14 Walnut Street,passed away Monday (November 14, 2005) at her homefollowing a long illness.
Born in NorthHornell, January30, 1963, she had resided in the Canisteoand Hornell area all her life. She hadattended Canisteo Central Schooland had been employed at several Hornell restaurants as well as the EveningTribune. She was a member of the Bennett's Creek Bible Church.
She is survived by hermother, Opal McMindesof Canisteo, two brothers: Lee ( Dee) McMindes of North Carolina and Alan McMindes of Oklahoma, her uncle and aunt, Laverne(Gretta) Dickerson of Addison, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be presentto receive friends from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursdayat the Brown & Powers Funeral Home,6 Spruce St., Canisteo. Funeral serviceswill be held at the Bennetts Creek Bible Churchon Friday, at 11:00 AM, Rev Richard Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery,Canisteo.
Friends may make memorial contributions to: Cancer TreatmentServices,
21 Orchard Street, Hornell, NY14843 or to the charity of the donorschoice. Envelopes will be available for contributions at the funeral home.
