Vera N. Dunning, 94, a longtime resident of Canaseraga and Arkport, passed away peacefully, Sunday (December 17, 2017) at the Hornell Gardens.
Born in Hornell, August 8, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Mable (Crandall) Beach, she was a lifelong area resident. On June 27, 1942 she married Harold Dunning, and was predeceased by him in 1992, after 50 years of marriage. Vera enjoyed gardening, sending cards to anyone for any occasion, visiting the Dollars stores, and going out to eat with her friends.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Harold.
She is survived by her 2 daughters Sandra (Robert) Whalen of Dansville, Linda (Ronald) Phillips of Darien Center, 2 sons David (Kathy) Dunning of Wayland, Arthur (Carol) Dunning of Dansville, her brother Thomas (Betty) Beach of Arkport, 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
The family will be present 12-1pm Thursday, December 21, 2017, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in, Hornell, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Jesse Flint officiating. Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery.
