Vaughn W. Drake, 39, of 130 Rumsey Street, passed away unexpectedly Thursday (February 16, 2012) at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath.
Born in Rochester, September 4, 1972, the son of Vaughn and Muriel "Cindy" Miner Drake, he had resided most of his life in the Canisteo area. He had attended Canisteo Central School and received his GED. He had been employed for the Stephens Tree Farm in Hartsville, and assisted his father at Drake's Rubbish Removal. He was an avid sports enthusiast especially following the Buffalo Bills, Florida State, New York Yankees and his favorite NASCAR Driver, Tony "Smoke" Stewart.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Winford and Adele Drake and his maternal grandmother, Harriett Miner.
He is survived by his parents Cindy (Paul) Stewart of Florida, and Vaughn (Kathy) Drake of Hornell, his daughters, Shalynn and Emily Gilbert both of Friendship, and Caleigh Drake of Hornell, his son, Ethan Gilbert of Friendship, maternal grandfather, Clifford Miner of Arizona, his sisters, Pamela (Dallas) Reid of Florida, Jamie Drake of Hornell, his brothers, Justin (Cassandra Brogdon) Drake of Canisteo, Devan Drake and Clay Drake both of Hornell, several nieces and nephews.

The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8PM Monday at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo where Funeral services will be held following calling hours at 8:00 PM, Rev. Dudley Jenkins officiating. Friends are invited to attend a reception at the Hornell VFW immediately following the service.
