Uvonne M Young, 80, of 4643 County Rte. 16, passed away unexpectedly Monday (March 21, 2011) at Jones Memorial Hospital.



Born in South Lima, August 4, 1930, the daughter of Raymon"Hap"G and Adah Prowant Beckwith, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Angelica Central School Class of 1948. Uvonne was a member of the St Paul's Episcopal Church of Angelica, she was also a member of the Angelica Chapter #231 OES. She had worked for the former Burt's Funeral Home of Angelica, and the former Shadowdancer's of Angelica. Uvonne's hobbies included playing organ for the church, gardening, music, and writing poetry for the Angelica Booster News. Uvonne dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.



She was predeceased by her parents, her husbands Victor Young in 2000, and Clair Harding in 2007.



She is survived by her daughter Candace (Gary) Thompson of Geneseo, her cherished companion Hartley "Pete" Maxson of Angelica, her sister Rae Jeaneane Seely of Wellsville, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, special niece Roberta Anderson and several other nieces, nephews and friends.



The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave., Angelica with an Eastern Star Service at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Friday, at 1:00 PM, with The Rev. Cole Gruberth officiating. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.
