Teeka M. Sherman, 65, of 7805 Reservoir Road, formerly of West Almond, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday (March 6, 2020) after a long battle with cancer.
Born in North Hornell, NY, January 21, 1955, the daughter of Richard and Jeanine (Watson) VanDuser, she was a lifelong area resident. She was retired from Alfred University. On October 15, 1971, she married Michael J. Sherman who predeceased her on July 20, 2018.
Teeka enjoyed scratch off tickets, the Casino, traveling, watching cop shows especially “Live PD”, but most of all her devotion belonged to all of her family. She adored her children, grandkids, and great grandkids.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Mike, a grandson Hunter Kolesar, and a granddaughter Shelby Shilling.
She is survived by her 4 daughters Bobby Jo (Shawn) LaVerde of Fremont, Heather Robbins of North Carolina, Teresa Hitchcock of West Almond, and Shelly (Shannon) Eymer of Bishopville, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Monica (Dale) Montgomery of Louisiana, Debbie (Eric) Smith of Virginia, 2 brothers Terry VanDuser of Hornell, and Richard VanDuser of Hornell, several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday (March 14, 2020) at the Arkport American Legion from 1-4pm in the upstairs part of the building.
