Stewart A. Sharrett, 75, a resident of Burdick Road, passed away Thursday (Dec. 18, 2025) at St. James Hospital in Hornell. Born in North Hornell, August 17, 1950, he was the son of Charles and Violet Bell Sharrett. Stewart had resided his entire life in the Almond- Alfred Almond area. He was a graduate of Alfred Almond Central School, and attended Wellsville Tech, to further his career in carpentry. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.

After serving his country, he pursued his lifelong passion for carpentry, holding various positions before building a rewarding career as a carpenter at Alfred State college, from which he retired after years of dedication, hard work, and service.

Stewart loved living in the valley and was happiest spending time in his garage, always tinkering, fixing, or working on a new project. Working on cars was more than a hobby- it was a passion he proudly passed down to his family. He enjoyed teaching them the many skills he had learned over the years, sharing not only his knowledge, but also his work ethic and love for hands-on learning.

Stewart loved life's simple pleasures-enjoying coffee with friends, the excitement of the races, and working on projects with friends and family. Known for his generous and caring spirit, he was always ready to help anyone in need.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother John Sharrett, his step daughter Stacia Marlatt and step son Joseph Lecceardone.

Surviving are his wife Cherrie Mullikin Sharrett, his sons, Shane (Cassi) Sharrett of Andover, and Christopher Sharrett of Alfred Station, his brother, Thomas (Linda) Sharrett of North Hornell, grandchildren, Aliyah, Ayden, and Ashtyn Sharrett.

There will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private celebration of life at their convenience. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond.
