Steven E Lusk, 73, former resident of Hornell, New York, passed away after a short illness on Tuesday (Dec 3, 2024) at the Steuben Center located in Bath, New York.
He was born August 29th, 1951, at the old Bethesda Hospital. Steve was born with a full head of red hair and delivered after 14 hours of hard labor by Dr. Kelly.
Steve was the son of William Baird Lusk and Doris Bossard Lusk
He grew up in the “Bloody 5th” ward and began his education at Lincoln school. Steve was confirmed by Reverend Senawald and had his first communion at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ located in Hornell.
Steve was graduated from Hornel Senior High School in 1969 with a full 4-year scholarship to Alfred University. He had to forgo continuing with his education because of a car accident before graduation that left him permanently disabled. He worked at various jobs throughout his life until his disabilities rendered him unable to.
An interesting Fact about Steve is that he read the dictionary and all the encyclopedias for entertainment.
He loved trivia, reading and movies and he could remember anything he read or watched. It was utterly amazing.
Steve was predeceased by his parents, Aunts and Uncles.
Surviving Steve are his three sisters, Gail (Steve) Faes of Canisteo New York, Cindy (Rich) Giglio of Centennial, Colorado and Brenda (Peter) Koerner of, Clifford, Pennsylvania. His niece and nephews, Nicole (Steven) Wald, Colin Giglio, Corey (Colleen) Giglio, William Faes and Joe (Molly) Faes. Great nieces and nephews, Oliver Finn Wald, Willow Rae Wald, Rowan Wald, Sloane Wald, Wilder Lux Wald, and Rosie Giglio.
He has also left behind good friends David Kerr, Dennis Conklin, and Dennis Denninger. And special CNA “Sissy” and the entire crew on the second floor of Waneta at the Steuben Center.
As per Steve’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral. There will be a celebration of his life by family in the spring of 2025.
Friends wishing to honor Steve can donate to MADD (Mothers against drunk driving) and play PINK FLOYD,” Us and Them” while remembering him.
