Stephen A. Spencer age 62 passed away peacefully on Wednesday (February 7, 2024) at Strong Memorial Hospital.
He was born in North Hornell on April 14, 1961 the son of Andrew W. Spencer and June L. Kaiser Spencer. He was a graduate of Arkport Central School, and had attended the Lime Bible Institute. Stephen had been a farmer in the Arkport area for many years, and later as missionary in Mexico. He was predeceased by his parents Andy and June.
He is survived by his loving wife Debora Jael Spencer of Arkport, his 3 daughters Xochitl Daniela Spencer Barbosa, Stephanie Yaretzi Spencer Barbosa, Hannah Janelly Spencer Barbosa, his sister Julia “Dot” (James) Scales of Colorado, nieces Megan Scales, Allison Scales, his uncle Phillip Spencer, special cousin Jonathan (Dell) Seda, many more cousins and his best friends Stanley Neu, and Ben (Sarah) Dodzweit, his sister in law Elizaberth Barbosa, and several other brothers and sisters in law.
The family will be present to receive friends on Tuesday (February 13, 2024) from 11am-1pm at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. David Theobald officiating. Burial will be at Heritage Hills Cemetery in Arkport.
