Stephen T. Rowe, 94, of 1087 Riverside Terrace, passed away Thursday (October 7, 2010) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath.



Born in Dansville, March 18, 1916, the son of Olin and Myrtie Scott Rowe, he was a graduate of Dansville Central School, Class of 1933, and had served his country as a member of the United States Army during WW-2. Stephen had been employed in the Grocery business all his life, locally for the former Market Basket Corporation of Hornell. He made his home in California from 1960-1976, and in Waynesboro, PA from 1976 until moving to Hornell in 2001. He was a former member of the Hornell VFW Post, the American Legion in Waynesboro, and the First Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro.



He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Lelah Davis Rowe in 1988, his second wife, Anna Stoddard Rowe in 1999, as well as 2 sisters, Jeanette Mungo and Aliene Rowe-Fox, and his brother, Leslie Rowe.



He is survived by 2 daughters, Sandra (James) Brown of Hornell and Patricia (Jerry) Dunning of Hornell, 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren , nieces & nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the First Baptist Church. 28 Church Street in Hornell on Tuesday at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
