Stanley Cole, 95, of 53 Park Circle, formerly of Canisteo passed away Friday (August 21, 2015) at Jones Memorial Hospital.
Born in Freedom, New York, September 1, 1919, the son of Jacob and Arabella (Crosley) Cole, he had resided in Rexville, Canisteo, and Texas but, most recently in Angelica. Stanley was a retired design engineer from the NYSDOT in Hornell. He started his career working for Vickers in Detroit as an hydraulic engineer on airplanes during World War II. He was a member of the Greenwood Masonic Lodge, where he had served as Past Master. Stanley loved horse racing, but truly enjoyed his family, and everybody enjoyed his sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife Winifred Bryant Cole on July 7, 1991, to whom he was married to on September 7, 1941.
He is survived by 2 daughters Penelope (Jay) Bangs of PA, Deborah (David) Fleming of Angelica, 4 sons Clifford (Maria) Cole of TX, Jack (Tammy) Cole of Alfred Station, Douglas (Marguerita) Cole of CO, and Stanley "Steven" (Kyle) Cole of AK, his sister Bernice Harper of FL, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
The family will be present 11am-1pm Thursday, August 27, 2015, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home 6 Spruce Street in Canisteo, where funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Canisteo.
