Stanley B. Babcock, 90, of North Almond Valley Rd., passed away Sunday (November 6, 2016) at St. James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Hornell, NY, April 28, 1926, the son of Arlo and Lena Brizzee Babcock, he had resided in the Arkport area his whole life. On December 9, 1961, Stanley married the former Lois Terwilliger. Stanley was employed by Foster-Wheeler in Dansville for 33 years. He was an outdoorsman; enjoyed chopping wood, bird watching, and doing puzzles. Stanley had a great love for his grandchildren, and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army.
He was predeceased by his parents, 3 brothers; Richard, Robert and Clifford Babcock, one infant son, Stephen Babcock, and one daughter Lisa Babcock in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years Lois Babcock of Arkport, 2 daughters, Susan (Thomas) Ames of Hornell and Lori Babcock of Arkport, 3 grandchildren, Hannah, Taylor, and Zackery Ames all of Hornell, 1 sister, Thelma Green of Virginia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
