Shirley L. Mix, 83, of 28 Russell Street, formerly of Hornell, passed away Friday (January 25, 2013) at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Rochester, February 27, 1929, the daughter of Charles and Grace Grab Sullivan, she had resided in Elmira before moving to Hornell in 1962. She had been employed at Loohn's Cleaners in Hornell and had owned and operated a Video Store in Angelica. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, the ladies auxiliary of both the American Legion and the Hornell VFW. She was also a member of the Hornell Association and an avid Elvis Presley fan.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Harvey Mix in 2001.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Cherie (Bub) Losey of Corning, Bonita (James) Henshaw of Hornell, 4 sons, David (Cheryl) Mix of Prattsburgh, Walter (Karen) Mix of Hornell, James (Sue) Mix of Hornell and Steve (Lois) Mix of Canisteo, one sister, Barbara Baxter of Florida and one brother, Charles "Bud" (Mary) Sullivan of Elmira, 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchilden.
