Sherry Lynne VanDuser
Hornell
Sherry Lynne VanDuser, 58 of Sheldon Street passed away unexpectedly on Thursday (April 11, 2024) at her home.
Born in North Hornell September 15, 1965, she was the daughter of Mark and Phyllis Eymer McGregor. She had resided all her life in Hornell and was a graduate of Hornell High School. She had been employed for 22 years as a Direct Support Professional for the ARC in Hornell and at several other locations in the county.
Sherry loved life and was always for an adventure. Friends and family will continue to laugh until the end of time, remembering various adventures throughout the years. She was an amazing woman with the biggest heart on the planet. She was a nature girl and enjoyed taking pictures of everything. She rescued turtles, stray cats, stray people, etc. she enjoyed painting rocks and leaving them for others to find and also enjoyed finding what others had left. She loved deeply, especially her family. She was always there for school functions and sporting events, for her children and later her grandchildren. She wanted every child to share her love of life and adventure and so she set out to instill both into her grand kids and pretty much every kid she ran into. She was such a strong woman. She worked until the end, thru various cancer treatments throughout the last several years. Those of us who knew her, loved her and she loved us right back. Any time one of us has an adventure, we know we will be safe. Sherry will be right there looking out for us.
Her earthly body gave up, but her spirit will live on forever. This isn’t good bye. I’ll see ya later.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother Benjamin McGregor.
Surviving are her husband, Terry VanDuser of Hornell, her daughters, Caitlin (Patrick) Wing of Hornell, Jennifer VanDuser of Hornell, her son, Brandon McGregor of Hornell, step-sons, Scott (Kelly) VanDuser of Hornell and Todd VanDuser of Hornell, her sisters, Sandra Coogan and Patricia Jackson both of Hornell, a special friend, Debbie Thompson of Hornell, 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
