Sherry M. Henry, 75, of Hartsville passed away peacefully on Saturday (Dec. 23, 2023) at her home. Born in Hornell, April 22, 1948, she was the daughter of Carl and Geraldine Predmore Bovee. She had resided her entire life in the Hornell area. She was employed for 38 years as a housekeeper and CNA at the former Hornell Gardens. She was a member of the Canisteo Wesleyan Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Michael Henry, her son David Matacale, her daughter Michelle Henry, her brother Rick Bovee and her step-brother, Walter Shuman. She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Jason) Whitesell of Hornell, Marsha Henry of Hornell, her sons, Steven (Wendy) Matacale of Hartsville and Michael (Holly) Henry of Rexville. Also surviving are her sisters, Carolyn (David) Doty of Mt. Morris and Irene Hodge of Pennsylvania, her brother, Norman (Heidi) Bovee of Germany, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service on Friday (Dec. 29, 2023) at the Canisteo Wesleyan Church, 25 Greenwood Street in Canisteo at 2:00 PM. Rev. Shannon Brumfield will officiate. Burial will be in Hartsville Center Cemetery.
