Sharon Lee Gillespie

Hornell, New York

Sharon L. Gillespie, age 71. Sharon was a beloved mother. She passed away on May 1, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Sharon was born on September 16, 1954. She is the daughter of Asa and Violet (Bradford) McDaniels.

She married Steven A. Gillespie Sr. on February 14, 1974, who predeceased her on March 1, 2011 after 37 years of marriage. Sharon is survived by her children, Tina Gillespie (Tony), Steven Gillespie (Kristina), Joseph Gillespie (Natasha).

Her Grandchild Jordan Chambliss (Bradd), Phoebe Gillespie (Reese), Gisselle Hernandez (Isaiah) Brittany Baltimore (Kenny), Ashely Baltimore (Justin). Three Great Grandchildren; Cameron, Charlotte Kaminski and Princeton Hilton. Also her brother Patrick McDaniels and sister Karen Sprinkel (Anthony). Niece's, nephews and cousins.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Asa and Violet McDaniels, her husband, Stephen, A. Gillespie Sr. Her brother Joseph A. McDaniels. Sharon loved animals. She lost her beloved dog, Rusty, and grand-fur babies, Harley and Kiki and Chunky.

Sharon enjoyed, her coffee, and watching her son, Joe race his race car. She also enjoyed being with family as much as possible.

There will be a private funeral service on May 5th for Sharon at the Bath National Cemetery.
