Scott Baker age 59, of Albion Street, passed away peacefully on Friday (August 21, 2026) at home surrounded by family.

He was born in Corning, NY, the son of Roy Lester Baker Jr. and Nancy (Doty) Baker, graduating from Hornell High School, and was a lifelong area resident. In 1985 he met Niki Heather Alexander, and they married on May 27, 1995. Scott started his career working for his parents; driving cab for J.B's Taxi in Hornell. He later went on to work for the Automotive Department at Wal-Mart for 27 years, before being forced to retire in November 2025 due to illness. Scott was not always a cat lover, but later cats decided they liked him, so at the time of his passing he left many cats behind.

He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Nancy, his sister Tina Davila, his brothers Jeffrey L. Baker, and Monroe Monty Keith Bates.

Surviving are his wife Niki Baker, his son Dylan (Elisha) Lafler, grandson Lucas Lafler, granddaughter Arabella Rose Lafler, 2 brothers Roy (Doreen) Baker III, Kelly Baker, several brothers and sisters in law, many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

The family will be present on Saturday (August 29, 2026) at the Bender Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street in Hornell from 3-6pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 6pm with Rev. Aaron Alexander officiating.
