Sally Maxson, 91, of 1035 Anna Maria Drive, formerly of East Main Street, passed away Sunday (October 7, 2018) at her home in Johnson City.



Born in North Tonawanda, NY, April 20, 1927, the daughter of Alan and Olive (Ames) Kitchen, she had resided in Johnson City for several years, coming from Angelica, New York. Sally was a graduate of the first graduating class of Angelica Centrals School "Class of 1945", she then attended Houghton College to attain her teaching degree. She retired from the former Angelica Central School in 1986, where she had taught music. She was a member of the Angelica United Methodist Church, where she had been a member since the age of 16, and had also been the choir director for 35 years. Sally also enjoyed traveling, and bingo.



She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Hartley "Pete" Maxson, her son Gregg Maxson, her father and mother in law Bus and Bess Maxson, and her sister in law Marilyn Scott.



She is survived by her son Scott Maxson of Angelica, her brother Alan (Ilse) Kitchen of AZ, her brother in law Dean Scott of Belfast, as well as several special nieces, and nephews.



A Funeral service will be held on Friday (October 12, 2018) at 1:00pm at the Angelica United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Stephen Crowell officiating. Burial will take place at the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica.
