Sandra L. Hurd, 75, of 7842 Ricks Road, passed away Saturday (November 2, 2013) at St James Mercy Hospital.
Born in Hornell, December 30, 1937, the daughter of Donald and Winifred (Martin)McCollumn, she was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Hornell High School. She was retired from Dr. Bijon Chaudhry's Office, where she worked as receptionist, and medical billing. Sandy enjoyed square dancing, baking, cooking, crafts of all kinds, and having family dinners.
She was predeceased by her father, and a brother Donald McCollumn.
She is survived by her husband Larry Hurd, whom she married on Septmber, 9, 1956, a daughter Cindy (John Sanford) of Hornell, 2 sons Larry Jr. (Alicia) Hurd of Littleon, CO, Monte (Susan) Hurd of Livonia, her mother Winifred McCollumn of Hornell, a brother Charles McCollumn of Hornell, 2 sisters Jeanette Butler of Hornell, and Nancy Dugo of Hornell, grandchildren Keith Hoffman Jr., Clarissa Hoyt, Joshua Hurd, and Kyle Hurd, and great grandchildren Kaylee Dugo, Rilye Cullen, Amaya Hoffman, Alan Hoffman, and Garrett Hoyt.
A Funeral service will be held at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 1:00 PM with the Deacon Robert McCormick officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
