Sandra L. Burdell, 68, formerly of
238 High Street, passed away Friday (December 14, 2007) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Hornell, July 7, 1939, the daughter of Harold and Ruth Burdett Seaman, she had resided in Hornell allher life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School and the Elmira Beauty School. She was employeda short time as a beautician in Hornell, and then for LoohnsCleaners for several years. She retiredin 2001 from the laundry department at St. James Mercy Hospital. She attended First Baptist Church in Hornell and wasactive the past 4 years in the "Foster Grandparents Program" at the Bryant School.
Sandywill be remembered for her devotion to her children, her son-in-law, her grandchildrenand her many friends. She was a devotedfan of the Buffalo Bills and the New York Mets.
She was predeceased by her parents and her grandson, E.J. Burdell in 1996.
She is survived by her daughter- Diana (Tom) Lorow of Arkport, her son, Stephen Burdelland 2 grandchildren, Matthew and Brian Lorow.
The family will be presentto receive friends at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354Canisteo St, Hornell on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM where funeral serviceswill be held on Wednesday at 2 PM with Rev. MichaelChilds officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery,Canisteo.
