Ruth Bebout

RuthAnn Bebout, 81, of Hornell passed away peacefully in her home with
her children by her side early Sunday morning, December 21st, 2025.
RuthAnn, known as "Rudy" to her best friends, was born on March 12th,
1944. She was the daughter of Roy and Doris (Reynolds) Schoonover. She
graduated from Hornell and stayed in the area her whole life, residing
in Alfred and Hornell. RuthAnn worked at Acme Markets for 25+ years
until they closed their doors. At 50 years old after a lifetime of
taking care of her family she decided to go back to school and became an
LPN, where she went to work at the Hornell Gardens to continue her life
of caring.
RuthAnn was an amazing mother, grandmother and a faithful friend. She
loved to cook and make meals for everyone and would do anything for her
loved ones!
RuthAnn was an avid traveler and loved to travel with her many friends
to her two favorite places in the world, Galveston Beach and Las Vegas.
She was a lifetime member of the Hornell Association and the AMVETS.
RuthAnn was predeceased by her parents Doris and Roy, her sister Joanne
Cartwright and her brothers, Homer (Butch) and Neil Schoonover.
Surviving is her daughter, Bobbi (Joshua) Morgan of Greenwood, her son,
Keith Cartwright of Hornell and her three grandchildren, Mikayla
Gardner, Maddux Schwartz and Cassidy Cartwright.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday January
3rd,2026 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Bender, Brown and Powers at 354
Canisteo St. Hornell.
