Ruby Pearl Miller Wilson, 91, formerly of
Main Street, passed away Thursday (January 18, 2007) at the Wellsville Manor Care Centerwhere she had been a resident the lastseveral years.
Born in Fairchance, PA,July 19, 1915, a daughter of Robert and Beryl Hughes Miller, she had resided in Fairchance and was a graduate of Fairchance High School. She later moved to Wellsville where sheworked for Ward's Jewelry.
Ruby married Edmond Chapman Wilson on Nov. 29, 1941, and resided in Hornellmany years. During World War II, theylived in Niagara Fallswhere Edmondworked for Bell Aircraft. After the war,they returned to Hornell to raise their family.Ruby was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Hornell,serving at one time, as president of the
Bertha Crandall Circle.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edmond Wilson, onebrother, Russell Miller, 3 sisters, Frances Miller Goodwin, Virginia MillerChapman and Mabel Miller.
She is survived by one son, E. James (Ellen) Wilson of Texasand Singapore ,one daughter, Debra (David) Hawke ofColumbia, SC, 2 granddaughters, Chanatale and Shona Wilson, 2 nephews and one niece.
The family will be present to receive friends at theBender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell onSaturday from 2-4 P.M. A funeral service will follow callinghours at 4 PM with the Mrs.Wilson's son-in-law, Rev. Dr. David Hawke officiating. Burial will be inArkport Cemetery.
