Roy "Butch"Schoonover, 68, of

139Dennis Ave., passed away Wednesday (January 14, 2009) at home.



Born in Hornell, May 6, 1940, the son of Roy andDoris Reynolds Schoonover, he had resided in Galveston, Texasfor about 46 years prior to his retirement as a project manager for Stewart andStevenson Company in Houston,Texas. Since retirement, Butch spent summers inHornell. He was a graduate of Hornell High School and had served his country as a member of the UnitedStates Army during the Viet Nam Conflict. He was a member of the Hornell VFW,AMVETS, the Hornell Association and the Hornell Lodge of Elks.



He was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, NeilSchoonover in 1986.



He is survived by 2 sisters, Joanne (Ernest) Cartwright ofArkport and RuthAnn Bebout of Hornell, several nieces, nephews, great niecesand nephews.
