Roy J. Schenck, 74, of Naples, NY, entered into rest on Monday, August 3, 2026 at F. F. Thompson Hospital, surrounded by the love of family and welcomed into the presence of the lord.
Born in Hornell on May 16, 1952, Roy was the son of the late John E. and Betty Garrett Schenck. He spent nearly his entire life in Canisteo area and was a graduate of the Canisteo Central School. Roy continued his education at Houghton College, where he studied Physics and Mathematics.
Roy enjoyed many interests throughout his life. He was an avid fan of Star Wars, Garfield, and The Far Side comic strip, and he had a deep appreciation for vinyl records. In his spare time, he enjoyed writing and remained a devoted Buffalo Bills Fan for life.
Roy shared a special bond with his caregivers, Deb and Carl Burnett of Naples, whose care and friendship meant so much to him.
In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by his sister, Sandra "Sandy" L. Adams.
He is survived by his family: Holly (Mike) Henry of Rexville; Stacey (Charles) Martens of Endicott; John (Kim) Adams of Pennsylvania; and Jay (Jennifer) Adams of North Carolina. He is also survived by his beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, Ava Henry, Garrett Henry, Caitlin Lavelle, Donovon Adams, Taylor Adams, Amanda Engliush, Noah Reiter, Dylan Reiter, and Lilyann Adams, as well as three great-great-nieces and nephews.

The family is assisted by Gerald R. Brown, Director of Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Canisteo.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 17th at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Shannon Brumfield officiating.
