Ronald "Ron" F. Miller, 56, of
46 West St., passed away Wednesday at St. James Hospital.
Born in Front Royal, VA, February 1, 1952, the son of Glenn and Mabel (Tobin)Miller, Ron had resided in Ithacabefore moving to Hornell in 1979. He attended the Boynton Central School. Ron had beenemployed for many years as a crane operator at the Hornell Waste Materialbefore working for AVI Food Systems as well as Club 57, the Italian Villa andthe Carducci Lodge. Ron was a member of the formerEagles club and loved NASCAR, his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Jr.; Ron never missed a race at Woodhull Raceway. He also loved camping and had to alwaysbe doing something. You could always find Ron tinkering with something but mostof all he enjoyed his family, including his wife, children, grandchildren andmany friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers; Albert andDonald Miller.
He is survived by his wife Cathy (Ribble)Miller who has been apart of his life since 1979 and married on May 7, 1988,three sons; George (Peggy) Crandall of Hornell, Tim (Amy Gardner) Miller ofDansville and Matt (Casondra) Miller of Hornell, Three Brothers; William(Mary) Miller of Owego, Gary Miller of Ithaca and Michael (Laurie) Miller ofOwego, Two sisters; Betty (Earl) Houseknecht andBonnie Miller of Ithaca, seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews andmany dear friends.
The family will be present to receive friends from 2-4Pm and 7-9 PM Saturday at the Bender - Brown &Powers Funeral Home,
354 CanisteoSt, Hornell. Funeral services will be held on Sundayat 2:00Pm with Rev. MichaelChilds officiating. Burial will be in Hornell Rural Cemetery.
