Roland Keith Jones, 87, of 6683 Omphalius Road, passed away Friday (September 7, 2012) at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo.
Born in Angelica, August 4, 1925, the son of Bertelle L. and Glenna V. Jones, he had graduated from the former Wilsonian High School, and joined the US Army serving during World War II. He had served in General Patton's 3rd Armored Division in the battle of the bulge and near the end of the war this division helped liberate the concentration camps. After honorable discharge he attended a communication college in Kansas and worked at WHDL Radio in Olean, and WBEN Channel 4 in Buffalo until his retirement. Keith was also a member of the VFW of Hamburg, American Legion of Hamburg, and the Lockport Masons.
He was predeceased by his parents and a brother in law Richard Robinson.
He is survived by his wife Irene (Cook) Jones of Colden, his sister Nancy Robinson of Cuba, 2 brothers Gerald B. (Mary) Jones of Friendship, and Robert H. Jones of Belfast as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside service will be on Wednesday (September 12, 2012) at 1:00Pm at the Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica.
