Robert F. Raish, Sr. 85, of 79 Crosby Street, passed away early Thursday morning (June 18, 2015) in at his home.
Born in Penn Yan, NY, April 3, 1930, the son of Jesse and Helen Taylor Raish, he had resided in Hornell for the past 80 years. In his early life, Bob worked with his father in the operation of Raish Plumbing in Hornell, He later became the Plumbing Inspector for the City of Hornell, and retired as the Codes Enforcement Officer for the City of Hornell. He served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a member of the AMVETS and the Hornell Association.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Shirley and his son Larry, both in 2008, as well as two brothers, William and Thomas Raish.
He is survived by his sons, Robert (Jeanne) Raish Jr. of Canisteo and Edward (Cari) Raish of Hornell, his daughter-in-law, Janice Raish of Florida and his grandchildren, Jason Raish, Robert Raish, Karissa (Keith) Lemont, Darielle (Brad) Bidwell, Alaina Raish, Jared Raish, and Tiffany (D.J. McIntee) Tyler, close family friends Larry and Tammy Lawrence, and Nieces & Nephews.
