Robert L. McCollumn, 79,longtime resident of Hornell and Canisteo passed away Monday (September 14, 2015) .
Born in Hornell, NY, November 19, 1935, the son of Raymond and Theresa Stanley McCollumn, he was a graduate of Hornell High School and had been employed as a machinest at the former SKF Industries in Hornell, and later as a security guard at the former Morrison-Knudsen in Hornell. He later worked in maintenance at the State Office Building in Hornell. For about 20 years, Bob assisted his wife Mary Louise in the operation of McCollumn's Rest Home in Canisteo. Bob served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and had memberships in the Hornell American Legion, the Hornell VFW as well as the Hornell Moose Lodge,
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mary Louise Rockwell McCollumn in 2005, as well as his sisters, , Joyce Holtz, Mary DeLapp and Lucille McCollumn, and his brothers, Merle, Gerald, James Edward, James Joseph, and Raymond McCollumn. Also predeceased by his Brother-In-Law, Hubert Coddington
He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn (Louis) McIntosh of Alabama. and Deborah (Michael Lawless) Eason of Hornell, his son, Raymond McCollumn of Cameron Mills, his sisters, Sally(Seth) Bragg of Waterloo, Linda McCollumn of Corning and Carolyn (Bob) Amell of Corning, his brother, William McCollumn of Rochester, grandchildren, Dillon McCollumn, Robert Eason, Adam (Jackie) Eason, Austin Eason, Heleigh Moore, Joshua (Samantha) McIntosh, and Mary Elizabeth (Brian) McAne, several great grandchildren, nieces & nephews as well as Sisters-In-Law, Suzanne Coddington, Marcia McCollumn and Mary Ellen McCollumn.

Honoring Bob's wishes, there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a prayer service followed by a luncheon at the Hornell VFW, 245 Canisteo Street on Sunday (Sept. 20, 2015) at 1 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Fremont. .
