Robert J. Kelley

West Almond

Robert J. Kelley, 61, of West Almond, passed away at home on December 5, 2023. Bob was born on August 28, 1962, in Hornell, New York to the late Margaret and Leonard Kelley. He was a 1980 graduate of Angelica Central School. Bob worked on the family dairy farm for many years. He was an avid hunter and a lifetime member of the Angelica Conservation Club. If you wanted to know how many days there were until deer season, you just had to ask Bob. Deer season was always his favorite time of the year. He enjoyed hunting with his friends and relatives. Bob was an enthusiastic sports fan, with his favorite teams being the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Celtics, Buffalo Bills, and Alabama Crimson Tide— “Roll Tide”. He coached many youth sports teams including little league and junior high girls’ basketball. You could always see Bob on the sidelines at his kid’s sporting events, cheering them on. He cherished any visits from his grandchildren. He also loved his dog, Reggie.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Leonard Kelley. He is survived by three sons: Nicholas (Michelle) Kelley of Angelica, New York; Dustin (Jenna) Kelley of West Almond, New York; and Austin (Hannah) Kelley of Grand Island, New York; and one daughter, Kirstin (Scott) Miller of Goldsboro, North Carolina. He is also survived by six grandchildren—Lyla, Bristol, Piper, Prescott, Reese, and Alaka’i. Bob is survived by his siblings: Richard (Jenny) Kelley, Joanne Kelley (Ted Schwalbe), Maureen Kelley (Skip Hecker), Carol (Jack) Kelley-Potter, Barbara (Jim) Kelley-Dello, Christine Kelley (Thane Graves), and William (Mary Kay) Kelley. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Trevor.
