Robert Michael Histed

Robert (Bob) Michael Histed passed away peacefully in his home on November 4, 2024. Robert was born in Hornell, NY on January 22, 1957 to Catherine and Francis Histed. He is survived by Lorrie, his loving wife of 45 years, and 4 children: Michelle (Russ) Calanni, Anne (Heath) West, Jeremy (Christina) Histed, and Joe (Tara) Histed. He was a proud grandparent of Matthew, Kate, Derek, Ben, Emma, William, Gus, Mara, Bob, Samantha, Maisy, Tyler, Johnathan, Ava and Isabelle. Bob was an accomplished man and though he had many talents, it was his family he was most proud of.
Bob worked for RGE for 42 years both as a lineman and in managerial positions. Bob’s proudest accomplishment as a marketing rep with RGE was the lighting of the middle falls at Letchworth State Park. In 1987 Bob spearheaded the large scale project of lighting the middle falls, from conception to finish. He was known for his work ethic, camaraderie and integrity.
Bob was active in his community, serving several terms on the school board, and parish council as a proud member of St Patrick’s Catholic Church. Bob was also an active member of the Genesee Valley Longbeards chapter of the NWTF for several years.
Bob lived his life fully. He always put his friends and family first and his selflessness should serve as an example to all of how to live a good life.
We love you dad and can’t wait to see you in heaven once again.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday (November 7, 2024) from 2-4 & 6-8pm and Friday (November 8, 2024) from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home 101 West Avenue in Angelica. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday (November 9, 2024) at 11:00am at St Patricks Roman Catholic Church in Belfast, New York
