Born in Elmira, February 8, 1927, the son ofHarvey A. andConstance Spencer Sanford,he had most of his early years in Whitney Point, and in the Hornell area since1977. He was employed as a Dam Operatorfor the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, at the Almond Dam Facility prior to hisretirement in 1987. He was a veteran ofthe US Army and Merchant Marines. He wasa founder of the Fellowship Baptist Lighthouse Church of Unadilla, a member ofthe Bennetts Creek Bible Church where he was aDeacon and devoted Sunday School Teacher..
He was predeceased by his wifeBarbara Whitbeck Sanford in 1996, and two sisters, Joyce Dean, and Helene Cook.
He is survived by one daughter, Laura (Dan) Warriner ofHornell, 5 Sons, Timothy (Patty) Sanford of Randolph; Harvey (Cathy) Sanford ofLisle; Matthew (Terri) Sanford of Hornell, Joel (Kammi) Sanford of Bath, andBenjamin (Fazi) Sanford of Maryland. One brother, Harlan (Jean) Sanford of CA,18 grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
