Rita E.(Brownell) Powers, 73, long time resident of Methuen, MA, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at St Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston, MA with her family by her side.
Rita was born March 24, 1947 in Hornell, NY. She was the daughter of Dr. Wayne E and Vivian I Brownell formerly of Hornell and Almond, NY.
Rita graduated from Alfred-Almond Central School Class of 1965 and received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Alfred University.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Mark R. Powers, her parents, and younger sister Jean E Goodridge. She is survived by her sister Linda Walker of Mabank, TX, her daughter Jennifer A. Lambert of Athol, MA, son Michael V. Powers of Leominster, MA, daughter Elizabeth C. Powers of Hammond LA; sister-in-law Jean Powers and nephew Scott G. Powers both of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandsons who were the light of her life.
Burial was in Acacia National Cemetery in North Tonawanda, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
