Richard D. Wheaton, 78, formerly of
Cedar Street,passed away Saturday (December1, 2007) at the Highland Healthcare Centerin Wellsville.
Born in Almond, September 13, 1929, he wasthe son of Elwin and Luella Wheaton.He had been employed as a Plant Inspector in Niagara Falls for several years. He served his country as a member of the U.S.Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a 55 year member of the Hornell VFW.
He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sisters, VirginiaWilcox, Thelma Miller and Linda Stuck and one brother, Robert Wheaton.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Christine (John) Senear of Hornell and Charlene (Alvin) Ozierof Florida, 7 sons- Richard Wheaton , Stephen (Karen) Wheaton , Kerry Wheaton,Troy (Lisa) Wheaton, and Blake (Kim) Wheaton all of Niagara Falls, Wayne(Linda) Wheaton of Newfane and Shane (Jessica) Wheaton of Lockport, 3 sisters,Irene George of West Almond, Shirley (Charles) Fox and Janice (Eugene) Briggsboth of Hornell, several grand and greatgrandchildren.

The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender- Brown & Powers Funeral Home,
354Canisteo St, Hornell on Tuesday from Noon until 2 PM at which time a funeral service will beheld . Burial with Military Honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond. .
