Richard L. Washburn, 65, of
7901 Bishopville Road, passed awayunexpectedly Tuesday (August 12, 2008) in RobertPacker Hosptial in Sayre, PA.
Born in Wellsville, March 26, 1943, the son of Guyand Phyllis (Ferry) Washburn Sr., he had resided in Almond all hislife. He was a graduate of Alfred Almond Central School, and had beenemployed from 1963 until 1972 for A.L. Blades in Hornell, From 1972 until hisretirement in 1998, he was employed as an equipment operator for the Town ofAlmond Highway Department. Richard enjoyed hunting, especially varmint hunting,fishing and target shooting.
He was predeceased by his parents, and one brother, RogerWashburn.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Patrick Washburn whom hemarried February 1, 1963,his son, Daniel (Pamela) Washburn of Almond, 2sisters, Patricia (Leo) Hulse of Hornell and Pamela Brutsman of Hornell, 3 brothers, Donald (Sandra) Washburnand Guy (Jeanne) Washburn Jr. both ofAlmond, Phillip(Betty) Washburn of Almond, 4 grandchildren, Aaron Kasi Washburn of Hornell, Bailey Washburn of Wilmington,N.C., Boone and Kate Washburn of Almond, 2 great grandsons, Owen and RyanWashburn of Hornell, several nieces & nephews.
The family will not be observing visiting hours. A privatefuneral service will be held at the Robertson Funeral Home,
354 Canisteo Street, Hornell. Burial willfollow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Almond.
