Richard H. Warner, 88 of 4631 County Rd. 16, passed away peacefully Thursday (August 27, 2015) at Jones Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.



Born March 30, 1927 in Wellsville, one of four sons of Joseph and Susan (Hooker) Warner, he resided in Angelica until after an early graduation in February of his senior year when he joined the Marine Corps. during WWII.



In 1950, he was employed by the Davey Tree Expert Service, working in White Plains, where he met and in 1956 was married to Jean E. West who predeceased him in April, 1976. After a few years he left Davey Tree and established The Warner Tree Service. In 1966, he sold his company and rejoined Davey Tree as a District Manager in VA, Milwaukee, and lastly in Baltimore until 1992 when he retired back to the farm in Angelica.



On March 15, 1980 he married Marilyn Tucker who survives. Richard was warm, caring, full of life, humorous, generous and a honest man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed his family. To many he was "Uncle Dick".



Richard was an avid gardener and loved nature. His favorite place to be was on the hill in his woods. He also enjoyed reading and music. He and Marilyn took great enjoyment restoring the Major Moses VanCampen Home. He was a past member of the National Arborist Assoc., the Angelica American Legion Post 414, the Cuba AMVETS, and the Angelica Boosters. He was confirmed in St. Paul's Episcopal Church. In latter year he attended the Angelica United Methodist Church.



In addition to his wife Marilyn, he is survived by a son Richard (Rosemary) Warner of Arapahoe, NC,; 4 daughters, Susan (Larry) Weaver of Bealeton, VA, Anne (Cary) Koch of Shewsbury, PA, Laurie (Daniel) Lyon and Jeaneane (Christopher) Finnemore both of Angelica,; 3 grandchildren, Andrew Koch of Baltimore, Toni Ross of Fulton, and Brandon (Crystal) Ross of Oswego, brother, James (Brenda) Warner of Angelica, many special nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers in-law; and very close friends.



In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Cpl. Robert H. Warner (USMC), Joseph L. Warner and sister-in-law Lois Warner.



The family will be present 2-4 & 7-9 Sunday at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 101 West Ave. Angelica. Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Monday at the Angelica United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Until the Day Dawn Cemetery, Angelica.



Memorial may be made to the Angelica Rescue Squad, The Angelica Free Library, or to the Angelica United Methodist Church.
