Richard E. (Dick) Vandewarker age70 died Saturday (November4, 2006) peacefully at home with his wife of 28 years at his side.Surviving in addition to his wife Mary are two sons, Mark (Karen) Vandewarker of Syracuse and Glenn (Joan) Vandewarker of Angelica, 2 grandchildren Ryan and Megan Vandewarker, his dear sister Sharon (Harold) Cox of Cornersville, TN, father in law Murray Weaver, sister inlaw Rebecca (Tom) Mueller, brother in law Murray (Diane ) Weaver and severalnieces and Nephews.
Born in Pontiac,Michigan, Dick joined the USNavy, and served on the USS Chopper (SS-342) submarine from 1954-58. Whileserving in the reserves from 1958-62, he received his B.S. degree in Physicsfrom Michigan State University.After graduation, he relocated to Rochesterto join Bausch & Lomb. In 1968 he joined Xerox Corp. and served in avariety of middle management positions in optics and model shop engineeringuntil his retirement in 1992.
After his relocation to Angelica, he operated the Six-S Pub,joined ACCORD as a business management advisor which led to his developing hisown company, R & M Associates. Dick served the Angelica Town Council, was amember of the Hill-Warner Post 414, and was a former member of the AngelicaLions Club, and the Copy Cats Square Dance Club in Webster. His latest andgreatest adventure in life was the Evergreen Trails Campground. He also servedas Regional Director for Campground Owners of New York.
His family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 &7-9pm at the Brown & PowersFuneral Home 101 West Ave. Angelica, where a memorial service will heldThursday at 11:00am, with the Rev. Larry Poelmaofficiating.
Memorial may be made to the Primary Care Unit of CubaMemorial Hospital or HomeCare Hospice 118 North MainSt. Wellsville.
