Richard J. "Dicky" Simons

Canisteo

On Monday, April 17, 2017, Richard J. "Dicky" Simons suddenly passed away. He was born 54 years ago in Hornell, NY on July 8, 1962 to Dolores (nee Martin) and Richard E. Simons. He was a graduate of Canisteo Central Schools and went on to attend Alfred State. He became a Master Electrician and was the owner of RJS Electrical Contracting. Dicky had many passions in his life, like snowmobiling, planning and attending his childrens soccer games, and creating ways to improve his family home. He thoroughly enjoyed the creativity that came with electrical work, home improvement, and the many roadtrips he took with his family. His biggest passion was his family. He lived for his family. Along with his cherished wife, Karen, they created from their love three beautiful children. Laura, Lindsey, and Adam have a magical blend of both their parents. Dicky will be sorely missed by his beloved wife, Karen Simons of Canisteo; children, Laura, Lindsey, and Adam Simons; parents, Dolores McNelis and Richard E. Simons of Spring Lake, FL and Canisteo; parents in laws, Gerald and Elaine Adam of Canisteo; brothers, William and Elizabeth Simons of Greece, NY, Andrew and Amy Simons of Jefferson, SC, and Daniel and Heather Simons of Baltimore, MD; brother in law, Michael and Suzanne Adam of Howard, NY; sister in law, Sandra and Joseph Federico of Rushville, NY. Dicky was an uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many, many people. He was greeted in Heaven by his brother, Martin Guy along with his grandparents, Laura and Andrew Martin and Elwin and Thelma Simons.
